I went to four days a week, by using holiday allowance during covid to look after newborn. It was a huge game-changer for me, so I never looked back and eventually switched to working part-time (3 days a week). I still feel productive and useful at work, but less mentally drained and have more of life to live, recently I started sketching, I enjoy time with my toddler, feel much happier despite being poorer. I know not everyone can afford taking pay cut, but I also know that lots people in tech earn more money they can spend, for these people I would strongly recommend - do not take more money, take more of your time back, no matter how in love with your profession you are.

This is not the opposite here. The opposite is to not save lives of some people at the expense of taking life of another, i.e. the ends do not justify the means. It is a moral dilemma and whether you break or not break a law does not matter nor should it exclusively influence a decision here (I mean to do harm, just because you abide orders - that's immoral).

I also feel the same way and believe that this is not due to internalising capitalist propaganda.

Caring about quality is above capitalism or communism. Yes, it can be exploited by any political regime and it is necessary to be aware of this exploitation, but regardless of what is the environment I feel proud of doing a great work.

I think it is because we are naturally attracted to beauty and repulsed by ugliness.

It would be interesting to know how to make something like that integrated with sensors and services OS offers: activity detection, geolocation, foreground tasks, scheduled alarms, etc.

With some exceptions, "you have to do it in Java" or "use JNI" sadly is still the correct answer.

It is possible to read that sentence as "million Euros spent to deliver working solution, which includes a full rewrite of everything employing well-paid senior-level engineers in Europe".

Running the world is quite troublesome, and usually, motivated by qualities like greediness, jealousy, &c. Those qualities are very first ones to avoid as you start getting into mindfulness state. Hence even with superpowers (especially with those) yogis should more likely stay away from running the world, just by nature of the things.

Try yourself in opensource. Write beautiful code, create useful projects, help others and you will grow your network. It's really hard to find good developer these days, so if you're good - prove it by doing something amazing. Good luck.

When I was in similar situation my solution was: 1) travel, 2) opensource, 3) meditation.

So I would suggest you to leave your zone of comfort, learn how your mind and body works and use them properly and give more attention to details of your life, turn off autopilot mode.

No, woman, no cry. Just be in a present moment and everything is gonna be alright.

`git log` command works too. or, if you need activity across projects - github.
