I'll add that Microsoft Outlook calendar works really well. or $69/year, Microsoft will sell you an Office 365 account, Outlook email and calendar, all their apps on-line, two desktop-installable licenses for their Office Suite, and 1 TB of OneDrive storage. It's a great deal.
It's good strategy, too. Now the other manufacturers are at a disadvantage because people can claim that the cars are "defective" by having touch screens.
I think a touch screen would be OK if it didn't operate while the car was in Drive, so you can set preferences, etc, with a full keyboard. But you can also do this from a companion app or website, so there's really no need to have it at all.
And I'm really glad to see HUDs come to cars. I wonder why it took so long!
I've seen multiple comments suggesting HN uses ReCAPTCHA, but I have never encountered it myself, and I even have Javascript disabled and login through 'anonymous' IPs such as tor, so I'm unsure what these users could be doing that is 'worse' to trigger ReCAPTCHAs.
If most users don't even know that ReCAPTCHA is used, that's a good sign that it is being used as little as possible, though.
I've seen it before. In fact, I'd double checked last time I brought it up and it was there on /login in an incognito tab.
Either HN has changed or they now conditionally load it. For example, I encountered it every time I used Tor on HN, though I haven't hit /login in months.
I saw one of those fake Elon Musk posts in my stream and my first thought was "Wow! Is Elon pushing shady blockchain money things now?" It wasn't until a few seconds later that I realized there was no blue-check and it wasn't him....
