In other news, people blog about other meaningless pet peeves...

Seriously, for any chart type, there are cases of misuse, even if the over-glorified Edward Tufte says no.

Needs a lot more baking.

For web apps built now, I use ExtJS. The newest release has been a little too buggy, but they are working hard to make it better.

The one non-negligible issue I had with the tips was the "vesting over time" approach recommended in the article. I prefer to setup vesting to milestones, such as "x contracted clients", or "delivered first MVP (minimum valuable product, as defined by a list of mutually-accepted user stories)", etc. IOW, I prefer vesting to some sort of deliverable, not just time.

What the author carefully sidesteps is that, according to Gartner, Apple market share is DROPPING fast. And, that Android has reached a critical "over 20%" market share this year.

If the organization that asserted management of the pool did it as a non-profit or not-for-profit, then it could work. Fragmentation and wars occur for power and control.

Next steps: 1. Ban the adults who drink too much. 2. Ban people who talk loudly in cell phones. 3. Ban teenagers who are partying with friends. 4. Ban the that woman over there. She's laughing a little loudly for my sensitive ears. 5. Oh, and could you please ban that other guy over there too. His facial hair is ruining my dining experience.

M'Kay. Thanks.

Is it wrong to read a journal paper and keep giggling at "posterior simulations"?

This is not Reddit. Kindly keep comments like this to a minimum.

It is wrong on HN. On digg.com it might be ok. Why is your comment grey?

No. Be pleased that it is not "posterior stimulations".

Butt otherwise, remember that this is not Reddit. Kindly keep comments like this to a minimum.

The more devices targetted by a framework, the lower the common denominator...

That is if you plan to run almost the same code on all platforms

Two counter examples here:

- For devices without a JS interpreter, app is executed server-side

- Progressive enhancement / Graceful degration : some platforms can have more features than others

..and no one has just started reading HN in the last few weeks, huh?

If you have, welcome! But understand that not every day is chock-full of new and amazing technological innovations and announcements. Sometimes you're going to see multiple articles from different sources on the same thing. If you need NewFlashyShinyThingOMG constantly...maybe Gizmodo would be more your speed.
