The one non-negligible issue I had with the tips was the "vesting over time" approach recommended in the article. I prefer to setup vesting to milestones, such as "x contracted clients", or "delivered first MVP (minimum valuable product, as defined by a list of mutually-accepted user stories)", etc. IOW, I prefer vesting to some sort of deliverable, not just time.
What the author carefully sidesteps is that, according to Gartner, Apple market share is DROPPING fast. And, that Android has reached a critical "over 20%" market share this year.
If the organization that asserted management of the pool did it as a non-profit or not-for-profit, then it could work. Fragmentation and wars occur for power and control.

1. Ban the adults who drink too much.
