What are good OSS alternatives? Or do most users not bother with such infra tool?

Exactly the TAM for rockets just isn't there, and probably never will be.

That's why SpaceX is "betting" so hard on datacenters in space (just build them on earth with solar and batteries), and AI.

I think they know they are pumping the stock and that's a pity because I do think Tesla and SpaceX are really good at scaling industrial production (car factories, rocket factories) and I think they could be really good (the best) at building earth-based datacenters at scale. But it's probably hard to value that at $1.7T

* GOOG's revenue grew from 16.6B in 2007 to 402B in 2025 for a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 20.4%

* AMZN: 11.7B to 717B = 24.8%

* AAPL: 24B to 416B = 18.6%

* MSFT: 49.7B to 245B = 10.2%

SpaceX is claiming they will grow by 41.5% !! That's double GOOG's growth and 4x MSFT's growth.

And claim they will keep bigger margins, despite needing to do all kinds of infrastructure stuff.

> against any sane logic

The logic is super sane: rich people get richer. rich people in power let other rich people get richer.

The insane part is the population that falls for the lies and votes for this

The administration has given their orders to the regulators, whether explicit or implicit, and this is playing out exactly as they want it to. This is not "by accident" or "by negligence". This is by design.

maglev but those do linear acceleration instead of rotational. seems tricky though for cars with such uneven surfaces.

Turned 40 too recently.

I have a much more relaxed feeling than I had 2~3 years ago. I am content, even happy, with the life choices I made. My family and I moved from Europe to South Africa, and while that has made the work side harder, the life side is so much better. Kids love it. They go to a much better school. We live outdoors most of the year. We hike. We sport. I took on surfing.

Like others have mentioned: reach out to those friends. Just a "Hi, how are you? I was just thinking about you and wanted to hear how you've been" can be the simple ice-breaker.

You're about at the half-way point for your life: what gives you joy? (playtime with the kids? learning a new hobby? ...?) do more of that! What gives you anxiety? (work? new boss?) figure out if you really need to spend time on that.

There are a thousand books about these things, but it's not really rocket science. Accept who you are. Accept who other people are. Make changes if you want.

Priced at €290 (for Europe)

Hardkernel offers an M.2 card with 6 SATA ports for €32. It looks like you could use three of these cards + an M.2 nvme ssd (for boot) to turn this into a massive 18 HDD storage server.

Not for crew carrying craft.

Off-load some of them when the valuation is _to the moon_ from AI and then later he'll force shareholders and the board to gift him even more shares then he sold.
