This is what we got when working with Oracle Linux on Oracle cloud platform:

``` $ yum install mariadb-server
Loaded plugins: langpacks, ulninfo
Package mariadb-server is obsoleted by mysql-community-server, trying to install mysql-community-server-8.0.26-1.el7.x86_64 instead
Resolving Dependencies ```
There is a work-around but the way they picked up the word is kinda shocking...
Exactly. I mainly used email for my domains, but I can'speak for the 2nd user. I have the small setup for my friend to use his domain.
What happens if I turn Gsuite off and still use the custom domain for email?
Oh that's said. I've got an email today. I am now looking at other alternative. Do you know any self-hosted suite and/or better way? Thanks a lot.
PS: I used to be fan of zoho.com but I also gave that up.
I got an e-mail today too. Seems the news first broke five or six days ago (or hit HN anyway).
There was an "Ask HN" regarding your question: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30004468
And then another large thread with 1K+ comments about the topic in general: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29996432
I recognized that ecommerce makes life "easier" and can make people shopping addiction. I can tell it's amazon. It's so easy to buy , it's so easy to return thing I don't like, it's so easy to find cheap things...
There is a voice inside my mind, "hey you can buy this doesn't cost much and let's save up later." Well I'm not an addiction but that voice actually came up in my mind, and I spent a bulk of $
I can't tell you what I bought. The good news is that I still use some clothes I bought 3 or 4 years ago. I feel guilty but I know they have been my best friends...
I wanted to use icloud. But I always got confused as there are different versions of the same media contents (on cloud, on the laptop, exported or non-exported? duplication between devices). And the cost.
So I gave up. Unfortunately I still have to do manual export all media from i$$$ devices, move them to linux/android-based system. "move" really means that, because I never pay icloud again.
What different versions were you seeing? Everything just gets uploaded to iCloud automatically.
icloud is so weird for someone who are used to simple file and folder.
My family "memorable" photos and videos are all stored on Telegram. We lost a bit when we converted the group to supergroup though. My mom is in her 80, really happy to navigate through the old ones when she likes. She can upload new media files to the group. I believe Telegram is the best tool that helps her: it's super easy, fast.
For the rest (e.g, snapshots, non-sense ) I have them copied between devices thanks to sync tools. I also do cold copies when I feel I need to do that.
I hope when I am 80 or 90, I would be still able to find my images on telegram then...
I've been using firefox since its very first day. In recent months I have had quite a lot of issues. Somehow the fullscreen mode always shows "Press ESC to escape". Last week, somehow all my cookies are gone and I have to re-login all sites again; worst, all add-ons settings are gone too. Well quite a lot of stuff. It's my mistake to install some add-ons or something crazy, but I really hope there is any easy way to "understand and fix the problems". The browser is not a technical bomb field that I need to invest my time :(
Unfortunately no browser is yet sufficiently bug-free for a frequent user not to hit bugs pretty frequently... Eg. last week Chrome kept displaying graphical glitches wherever webgl content should render...
Saying "yet" almost implies there's supposed to be progress towards it?
If anything, I think there's been regress. There was a time, long past, when I didn't really have to think about the browser itself much at all. It just did its job and problems were rare. Browsers and the web have turned enormously complex now. WebGL is a case in point: it's complex by itself, and it also brings in all the complexity of the graphics drivers & GL implementation on your system. Graphics drivers are the most complex of all drivers on your system, and GPUs are the least reliable of your components..
If Google has been collecting (translating) users data, is that a good time for them to release them to everyone?
Those are lottery results from some province in Vietnam. I have no idea why they appear in the comment section.
