Every time I mince garlic with a microplane it ends up containing what I would call an unhealthy amount of thumb skin. I don’t even know how I still have a fingerprint on my thumb…
When they fail they will pretend that the CEO of a messaging company is actually a criminal mastermind, and will throw him in jail for almost a week as soon as he steps into a european country, then he will not be allowed to leave the country for over a year, but I'm obviously exaggerating this would never happen, right?
The CDU is a progressive, tax-raising party. Nothing right wing about it. I don’t know the rest. All the parties in Europe that were traditionally understood as right wing have moved to the left at neck breaking speed. That’s why actual right wing parties have appeared to fill the spot that was left by those parties, which is what the media now calls the rise of fascism.
The CDU has moved from very right to less right, but still right-of-center under Merkel. After Merkel they have moved back right, maybe even more than they were to compete with the extremists.
So you can either define yourself as right or left but you still feel persecuted by the EU. Meaning someone is tricking you so you will keep fighting.
Good news you too might actually be on the same side, the loosing one.
Live long enough and you will have seen the full inversion of the right and the left or what they pretend to fight for.
The EU institutions have been labeled as hyper capitalist, hyper liberal or a new instance of the soviet union since their inception. I tend to believe all of those can be true at the same time.
I define myself as left and while I'm not happy with the EU, it's still the best thing we've got.
While being unabashedly pro-capitalist, it's still roughly pro-consumer and has greatly increased cultural exchange between constituent states It's definitely better than us being 27 isolated countries in this scary world.
Maybe one day we'll manage to actually do the socialist takeover that the other guy was fantasizing about, but I'm not holding my breath.
That bit does seem a bit whiney. AMD's latest offerings are quite good, certainly better value for money. Why not buy that? The only shame is that they don't sell anything as massive as Nvidia's high end.
Choosing the vendor locked in, standards hating brand does tend to mean that you inevitably get screwed when they decide do massively inflate their prices and there's nothing you can do about it does tend to make you worse off, yes.
Not that AMD was anywhere near being in a good state 10 years ago. Nvidia still fucked you over.
We currently (as in the for the last months) have instant transfers but for the longest time we didn’t and had to use PayPal as well if we wanted to send somebody money instantly without paying the bank an extra for it. I’m confused as to what the article means. It’s possible the author is misinformed.
In the US, I have been sending money electronically for free, and instantly, to my friends and family for almost 15 years.
Zelle, previously known as clearXchange, and whatever else, but if you had an account at one of the bigger bank, it has long been trivial to send money to each other.
> In April 2011, the clearXchange service was launched. It was originally owned and operated by Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo.[6][7] The service offered person-to-person (P2P), business-to-consumer (B2C), and government-to-consumer (G2C) payments.[8]
I don't know that customers have really cared that much about console hardware for several generations. They care about their games working well enough to be enjoyed, and only upgrade when they have to for the next game to work at all. Bad behavior like this just means people like me are going to boycott them until the games can be emulated on something better. I would even be willing to pay an emulation tax if it meant I could get legitimate copies and use them as I please within reason, and I know I'm not alone in that.
