I usually avoid shallow comments but I feel like this time it has to be said as a conversation starter: That's a lot of eggs!

Also ignoring the benefits of subscriptions, an estimate in the magnitude of thousands of dollars for extracting egg prices still makes me feel like we aren't "there" yet. This should have been a problem with a much more efficient solution given the advancements in the AI, data analysis and OCR space. I am sort of disillusioned.

There's got to be a "it's a chicken/egg problem" joke in there somewhere, but i'm not seeing it.

I think the issue is that the JavaScript ecosystem is so large that even the strangest extremes manage to survive. Even if they resonate with just 0.1% of developers, that’s still a lot of developers.

The added problem with the atomic approach is that it makes it very easy for these fringes to spread throughout the ecosystem. Mostly through carelessness, and transitive dependencies.

As someone who switched to macos from the hot pile of mess called windows last year, my biggest point of pain was the window management. I use Rectangle Pro, and it helps a lot, but IMHO workspace integration is poor still.

I'll give this one a try. BTW, if this works, can you please consider asking money for it? Keep it open source but perhaps add a friction-less support channel (read: not github issues) for paying customers. Just an idea.

In any case, thanks for the hard work and making it open-source.

thanks for the kind words and I might create a discord server for the support but I havent really thought about it.

Bun is pragmatic, extremely fast and self-contained. Ryan Dahl is a hero of mine but Deno could be neither of those, which is a shame, but to answer your question, no, not much of these can be said for Bun.

I told claude to make an html version for me and have it look like the ti-83. I'm having so much fun, thanks for sharing.

Maybe that sounded dismissive (considering the downvotes), but I loved this game when I was on high school. I had a symbian version. and I don't have a ti-83 laying around, so created a slop version to have some fun, and thought maybe others would try it too. Didn't share the generated code out of respect. No offense meant :)

Very cool idea and site! I wish claude and others could parse video streams then you could even create your own feed.

So afternoon in Germany or am I misreading?

DST shenanigans aside (we're in the "US has changed but Europe hasn't" window), 10:00 in SF is 18:00 in London. Meaning their peak time window is 13:00–19:00 London time, or 14:00–20:00 Berlin time.

So us European folks get promotional rates during the morning and evening.

EDIT: Actually, because the promo ends at the end of March, it'll all be within DST shenanigans. So peak times are 12:00–18:00 London, 13:00–19:00 Berlin.

Outside 4pm to 10pm

There should be a unit of dystopia called Kafka, these days. Renting an apartment from a management company should be like 3-4 Kafkas. Go from there.

1 Orwell = 1.1 Zamyatin = 1.3 Huxley = 1.7 Kafka = 2.3 Lem (yes, these units are pretty close together).

Yes oh my god. I'm trying to rent right now and the application has me doing this fucking approveshield bullshit where they request every document you've ever had and direct access to your bank account before they'll approve that I'm not a criminal or liar. Whatever happened to bank statements?! Why does some random company need to know that my closest grocery store is kroger and i went to miniso for my girlfriend birthday, among hundreds of other small details of my life. And they weren't even satisfied with that, i had to send in a picture of my driver's license (standard these days) but the webpage opened up a qr code, to open on my phone which took me to the appstorr to download some other bullshit app to give every single permission and piece of my data to! I JUST WANT AN APARTMENT, I'VE DONE IT DOZENS OF TIMES, WHY ARE YOU TREATING MY LIKE I'M ON THE FBI MOST WANTED!

Because one of the facets of the New World Order is treating mere mortals as guilty by default.

Might be time for "public-facing" bank accounts in the same way that people have public-facing social media accounts.

(I'd say "refuse" but I recognise you're not in a strong bargaining position here and you have to choose your battles).

This is just an artifact of the legal environment in many jurisdictions which makes it almost impossible to build new apartments (supply shortage) plus ridiculous tenant protection laws which make it nearly impossible to evict deadbeats.

What region is this in?

> Humans have a tendency to ascribe intelligence to how well spoken a person or thing is

That’s true. I’m fluent in German, but there’s still a difference between me and a native speaker. I’ve often seen my ideas dismissed, only for the exact same point to be praised later when a native speaker expresses it more clearly.

I don't think that what you're experiencing is grammar related, I'd bet xenophobia.

Or just management...

Logos, Pathos, Ethos

I occasionally used AI to edit and restructure my comments. I’m very open about it, and I don’t feel like I’m talking to non-humans when others do the same.

To be clear, I'm neither proud nor embarrassed by this. I'm just trying to communicate in the most efficient way I can.

I'm not sure how I feel about this new rule.

If you're not proud or embarrassed by it then I don't understand why it is an issue? If you miscommunicate something or don't get your point across, just try again, or apologize, and chalk it up to a learning experience.

If you think your writing could use improvement, then write your comment and let it sit for a few minutes before re-reading it and the comment you are replying to, make your edits and then post it. It will give your brain time to reset and maybe spot something you didn't earlier.

Seeing value in that "learning experience" and not, is the basis of our disagreement, perhaps?
