What's the difference between the two views? Just row vs column?

Semi-related, but is GitHub's search by programming language feature broken on this repo?

I'm curious about "FreeMarker" being the top language so I clicked on it, surprisingly it returns zero code: https://github.com/timvisee/send/search?l=freemarker

So does "javascript": https://github.com/timvisee/send/search?l=javascript

Search is disabled for forked repositories in github. It's better to create a new repo and push the code if you want a fork.

Search in original repo works: https://github.com/mozilla/send/search?l=javascript

The other option too would be just to clone the repo locally and use grep, find, etc. That seems the simpler option if you just want to perform a search.

Or open the repo in github1s so you don't have to clone anything: https://github1s.com/timvisee/send/

For more info see: https://github.com/conwnet/github1s

The complement of "building its own video-transcoding chips " isn't just software encoding though. Google/Youtube could have already been using hardware encodings, just with generic GPUs or whatever existing hardware.

Interestingly burrito.catering used to be a thing it looks: https://web.archive.org/web/20180804010349/http://burrito.ca...

Just curious, could you just put the address for Finder into that hook instead of the auxiliary program? Or even better, just put the main MPQS program?

>A headline with 5G but not a single mention of it in the article.

There is.

>He added that Apollo would allow the business to grow, a more difficult prospect when it was operating within Verizon, which was planning to spend even more money to expand its next-generation 5G wireless network.

Seriously. I honestly don't mind to have "sign up" being more prominent, but see very little reason why they go further and hide login button..

But Canada mainly uses letter instead of A4 IIRC (correct me if I'm wrong, not Canadian myself).

You're right. But when I hit Ctrl-P from any page, it defaults to printing in A4. I guess the desktop locale settings are in charge of that.

Canada uses the same inch-based US sizes but denoted in mm (called P sizes, I think - I’m also not Canadian).

Canadian here, we use the US sizes and describe them in inches (or by name, so we say "letter" or "8.5 by 11"). Microsoft Office uses both inches and millimetres but I always thought they did that for outside of Canada too.

Downvoting pattern on HN is the weirdest thing, even weirder than Reddit sometimes.

I can feel what kind of the comments will be downvoted but can't pin down why. The best I can come up with is that certain comment will be downvoted when the "mood" (not even narrative) of it doesn't fit with the others.

I think junk food place in general is actually more hygienic.

Might be. It also spans to occasional food trucks every now and then, which i would probably not call super clean (though can't claim to know either). "IF a food is tasty, you probably don't want to know under what conditions it's prepared" is something i believe in (but don't necessarily seek for - ie if somewhere is disturbingly unclean, i would probably skip, but otherwise don't care).

> IF a food is tasty, you probably don't want to know under what conditions it's prepared

I was in Bangalore (India) some time ago and everybody and their dog tells you not to eat the street food there, especially not the dairy products!

First thing our host (friend and former flatmate) brought us to was a street merchant with some dairy sweets :-)

Definitely surviorship biased ... but we ate a lot of street foot while we were there and have not gotten sick. I guess it's fine if you don't go to the super rancid places.
