Generally it's considered a faux pas (and downvoted) to advertise on other users' Show HN.
HN doesn't have an anti-commercial position like other forums, but competition on Show HNs is heavily frowned upon, since we're supposed to be celebrating the user's initiative and effort, not just look at a product.
Best way to do this is wait a few weeks then post your own service :) People will then automatically begin discussing yours versus another one that was posted recently, etc.
HelloSign | San Francisco | Full time Onsite | Sr. Product Designer
If you’re passionate about designing intuitive interfaces that make the most daunting of tasks delightful, we'd love to hear from you. HelloSign is looking for an experienced UX designer to join our Product team. In this role you will collaborate with our Product, Design and Engineering teams to help us achieve our vision of making agreements frictionless.
I’ve known Garry since 2010. Even though he didn't know us at the time - he met up with us to help us hone our YC pitch. He later became our adviser. Awhile after, when I showed him our growth numbers, he offered to invest, which then triggered a round. He didn't need to follow anyone else to decide. When we had an announcement, Alexis helped get us press. There are tons of helpful moments like this.
When I talk to other founders, I keep hearing how helpful they are. This is one of the most talented and genuine groups of people in the valley.
HelloFax has been a great service in my incorporation process (and I listed it in the "Tools & Resources" part of the checklist!).
In my case, I used the InCorp service to file my DE docs since I needed an expedited service and they could walk the documents over on my behalf. In the past, I did that portion myself.
Thanks for building a great service and down with the fax machines!
Garry is one of the nicest, most helpful people I know. 5 years ago, he took a meeting with us, even though we had a barely functioning prototype, and helped us prep for our YC interview. After our first meeting, he even offered to meet up again. I was blown away by how generous he was with his time. We got into YC and he’s been an incredible advisor ever since.
He’s one of the few people I like to think of when I think of Silicon Valley at its best. He genuinely loves product and the creation process. He’s hugely helpful and he’s a great person, through and through.

Seriously, because the way SC people describe each other constantly would make one think the place is filled to the brim, exclusively, bursting with the nicest most generous people in existence!
Agreed. The mission becomes key in having everyone focused and going in the same direction. Startups are really powerful when you have a small group of people are highly focused on solving a specific problem. That’s how they can compete against massive companies. They lose that power when everyone is going in different directions.
You can be highly focused on solving a problem without drinking the koolaid. It's not a requirement. Nothing wrong with kicking ass from 9-5 M-F consistently while your less effective coworkers struggle over long hours and through the weekend.
