Outside Mumbai domestic airport (this is where domestic flight take off and land unlike international airport .. also it is same airport but different terminal .. I digress) there is a taxi stand .. you stand in the line and one by one cabs (and auto rickshaws) will come and pick you up

Before you get on one of these cabs .. there are two airport officials (or contractors) who make you write your name and phone number and destination (in the name of accountability or security)

I am 90% certain (through grapevine) that that data is sold ..

Java .. Javascript .. Python

Any good example repo where you can learn about the code as well as evolution by following the git log and commit history?

I have two kids (3 and 7) and we both work ... with multiple work meetings .. zoom based school ... homeworks ... managing fights between the kids ... and endless cooking and cleaning .. leaves me with very little time ... I told my team at work that I am at 10% of my productivity and they have been extremely supportive ...

Someone who worked at Dropbox shared an anecdote. Guido received an email from some recruiter along the line "You seem to have great experience in Python. How many years of experience you have with Python?" To which he replied "All of it!". I am not sure if it is true story.

Haha, reminded me of a time when I had just quit from a company as head of engineering, and a couple of weeks later a new Jr. recruiter for said company sent me one of those generic emails telling me that she liked my LinkedIn profile, and how she would love to talk to me about an open developer position at the company.

I chuckled and forwarded the email to the then head of HR and CEO. I am good friends with both, and I knew they will take it with humor.

It is difficult to find good recruiters.

I heard a story about when he used to work at Google, he would get pulled into interviews where the candidate was brave enough to write “Python expert” on their resumé. There’s definitely no one better to grill someone on their Python skills than the guy who invented it!

Here is a series of videos that Yuval Harari (author) did that is enjoyable to watch

Rule of 12: Start with $12000 and invest in index fund (S&P500 SPY)

every month invest $1000 into that fund (you can always invest rest of the savings in other investments)

S&P long term annual return is 12% (Assuming it remains that)

After 10 years: ~250K After 20 years: ~1M After 30 years: ~3.25M

So if you are in your 30s, when you retire you should have approx 3M from this investment alone (other mutual funds, stocks, real estate, 401K aside)

Now each year you can withdraw 100K for next 30 years (65 - 95)
