FYI, you cannot delete your Quora account from there website. For that, you need to email: privacy@quora.com

I don't believe that's true. I see a "Deactivate" button in my settings. Or is that not the same thing as "deleting"?

No, it's true.

I don't know what "deactivating" does, but the account is reactivated if you log in. I tried it and it didn't appear to do anything except log me out. I also sent an email to privacy@quora.com to have the account deleted, but it hasn't happened yet...

No. You have to send a mail to privacy@quora.com and they might take mercy on your asocial soul and delete your account for good (no guarantees though).

ditto. I emailed privacy@quora.com to delete my account. Waiting for a response from them now.

H1-B?

I sincerely hope it is neither of the two.

I would love to have some feedback around the app.

I am also wondering on the best ways to monetize the idea. All tips would be really helpful.

Could you give more info/insight on what your app exactly do in the end? I really don't feel comfortable using my facebook account just to test something and give feedback as I'm seeing in most of Show HN posts.

The app helps you create beautiful wedding invites. A lot of people create FB events or send emails for this scenario which I dont think is befitting for an occasion like a wedding.

As far as FB login is concerned, you will notice I ask no permissions(not even email) when you login and grant permissions through Facebook. This means that the app really can't do anything.

mind=blown.

http://dummyimage.com/ works flawlessly too. I use it a lot in my dev cycles.

dummyimage is in fact made by one of the same guys, which makes the whole exercise confusing, because they appear to have the same interface but with different themes for their marketing.

Futures/Promises are an interesting technique to do control flow. IMO, there are certain nuances like losing distinction between async/sync calls that work against the technique. I wrote an article about it at: http://javascriptturnsmeon.com/93769736

Super enlightening. I am about to make the transition from Silicon Valley back to India. I hope to start something of my own.

Your article is helpful in giving a glimpse of the industry in Bangalore and how it is structured differently from the Silicon Valley. Thanks!

If I were you, I would be bothered about bigger issues about joining such a company.
