I've just checked your app and it's not even ranked for "workout tracker", " gym logger" etc. You're losing a lot of organic visibility from the App Store. If I were you I'd look into an experienced ASO specialist to level up your app store game, for example, @nickjsheriff (Twitter).
Also, $80-120/h for the iOS dev hour is a lot, I assume you hire in the US?
This is a REALLY GOOD point of feedback. I have done literally nothing for ASO, and what you are saying reflects the reality that I don't see many organic downloads in the App Store. Definitely going to look into this!
On the iOS dev hours: yes, the $120 has been more aligned to seasoned talent with U.S. rates and the $80 has been more aligned to talent outside the U.S.
I'm a mobile dev and I do ASO, I'm open to chat and show you on what metrics you need to look at in the app store connect. Let me know if you're up for it. I tried to DM on Twitter but your DMs are off
You are not the only one -- I've been developing in Flutter for the past couple of months and overall I'm very satisfied how easy it is to develop in it compared to native Android and iOS. Being native Android dev, I truly believe that there is a future in Flutter. Till now I was rejecting all the other cross-platform frameworks.
Big part of it is thanks to the community which is providing all the handy packages to add some native stuff easier (such as permission, localization etc.)
I agree with other comments that Flutter Web is not ready yet I've tried to build web version for wish list sharing based on Flutter and I was struggling, so in the end I've switched to Tailwind + Vue. Some issues I had was that website didn't behave like website. For example I couldn't select text with my mouse. It felt and behaved more like a mobile app through the browser.
For mobile though it works (almost) perfectly, my example of the mobile iOS and android app build with Flutter: https://wishpy.com/
Although it loads a bit long at the beginning and I still need to figure out how to show images and icons without an uncomfortable glitch at the screen start.
I don't cheat myself anymore that I can be productive after normal working hours.
My body doesn't want to sit any longer than it already does. And it isn't healthy either. Also mind is not as flexible.
Possible solution for any body issues might be frequent exercise and for mind -- working in the morning as suggested in other comments.
I'm working on my project for around 6-7 months already. First couple of months of work was done mostly during weekends and after hours. But recently I had a 2 week Christmas break which I used to work on my side project full-time. This made me realise how much more productive and creative I'm when I can single-focus on one thing for couple of days in the row. I've redesigned my whole app, it looks and works much better. So in result, a little over one week of work had similar effect to 6 months of working after hours.
So perhaps a good solution is just to take days off to focus entirely on your product and use your after hours and weekends to actually rest.
