I used to manage an enterprise fleet of mobile devices.

This AppCloud crap has also been pushed to devices in the Europe Open Market.

I also know that this shouldn't have been installed on enterprise devices (either Android Enterprise managed by MDM or E-FOTA managed - don't remember exactly). We had an akward conversation with some Samsung representatives..

"Bricolo" is kind of a slang term for "Bricolage" which can be translated to DIY / Tinkering.

-cracy as in the ancient greek word that is used in democracy/meritocracy/...

In this specific context, I believe parent is hinting (in a negative way) about the internal culture of OVH that could be interpreted as not up to professional standards ?

Indeed

"Bricolage", in a private context (typically DIY light home renovation) doesn't bear any negative connotations. In fact, several hardware store chains use the term (Mr. Bricolage, Brico Depot, Bricorama).

But using the term when describing a product or in a professional context is far more negative, often describing something which doesn't look well made or designed.

Similar concept from India https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jugaad

Since January 2016. You have to upgrade to Windows 8.1 to be supported and up to date.

As a "corporate" sysadmin using Powershell everyday, I was always surprised that PS is not so used in the malware industry.

By the way, I find that this article[0] linked in the original post is much more interesting if you want to know more about how brazilian malwares work (BHO injection, 2FA bypass, etc.)

It took a while for powershell to be installed on most computers. It's still certainly missing on many computers (i.e. the oldest and most vulnerable).

I actually don't know whether it is installed as default in the latest Microsoft OS and patches.

That and the very easy way to analyse/reverse engineer scripts don't make a great candidate for malware.

Anyway, the windows shell is enough for trivial scripts, and one might as well write software in a real programming language for the rest.

It's been installed by default since Windows 7 and PS v2. The only version that wasn't installed by default with a Windows release was PS v1 (introduced at the same time as Vista).

I don't know how they decommission a zSystem.

But from what the mainframe guys at work told me, hardware between 2 z boxes are pretty much the same and it's kind of licensed by load usage or components usage.

So if you want to downgrade or upgrade memory/CPUs/etc. (to a certain degree), it's just a matter of having an IBM tech to enter the right license in the console.

Some banks would have liked to migrate a long time ago but some ATMs vendors are not very cooperative : their XFS [1] interfaces were not compatible with new versions of Windows .... That's the problem when you are stuck with a locked down plateform.

the wikipeda links to the official website, though the page is gone Sharepoint error message): http://www.cen.eu/cenorm/sectors/sectors/isss/activity/banki...

What's the new page? their CEN website is a bit confusing
