This channel is wonderful. The museum’s curator primary channel, Look Mum No Computer[1], is just as good!

Hey HN! I started w/ this project a couple weeks ago, completing a rough version, to my satisfaction, in an hour or so. Then I realized something was missing: lots and lots of tests, CI, automated deployment, separation of logic from the UI, etc. I am admittedly very pleased with where I ended up, it was a blast to recreate this game.

Lol, AdBlock Lux

Michael Herf should build a version of flux that actually changes the color of the night sky, at night.

Once enough people bought shitty hackable color-changing light bulbs...

The last news I've heard about it was back in 2009, https://github.com/blog/493-github-is-moving-to-rackspace. But I've also heard that they have some infrastructure on site (clearly not what they were talking about).

I believe that, "A few hours after she first told me", refers to the conversation around Christmas, 4 months before the DID episode occurred.

My guess is that the industry is in a rush to get some where in regards to screen size, who ever gets their first can then work on battery life. Its still all about spec wars.

You just pushed me to hop over to Sonic.net, thank you.

Hadn't seen the DNS feature yet, that is amazingly useful! Thank you for that.

The tagline does seem to be marketing jargon, good for them. I'm seasoned with the docker CLI and I still think this is awesome, a UI on top of docker. Mostly it means that I can convince my teammates (who, for example, heavily use GitHub for Mac) to dive into docker without whining.

My high school was either the first or one of the first public schools with PDAs (Palm Pilots) over a decade ago and it ran into the same problem. Not only was their not curriculum for them, but my guess is that half of the teachers simply didn't use them in classes at all.

I agree that the technology needs to trickle into the schools by way of the teachers (I think that's along the lines of what you were getting at) before anything new really gets adopted.
