Is this related to Rancher, make of the k8s mgmt platform by the same name? I don't see any reference to it on their official website.

Yes, it is the same company. Which is now part of SUSE. From the footer:

It is strange that they don't make it super clear. But it is briefly mentioned in the top video on the hero section of the page.
