I just want to see the tweets of people I follow and stuff they retweet. I like the ability to turn off retweets from people I follow. I can even live with ads.
I absolutely do not want to see what people like, trends, or tweets from randos that I don't follow. If I haven't indicated I feel it warrants my attention then leave me alone. My idea of celebrities is different than Twitters.
This is a hard realization that not many people internalize. Incapacitation can actually be more painful for your loved ones and business associates than your death. Death has a lot of ritual / legal step in society, but incapacitation requires you to prepare for the scenario. Having some step-by-steps and legal work done will make everyone's life simpler.
Same crud before every US election affecting multiple services. I wonder if they he private communication channel will ever become public, or maybe they just ban people after they banned them on one platform. Some ideas just don't survive debate.
I have a modern clone, the Swiss Micros DM-16L. Clone-wise, the display is better, the keyboard is worse, the software is emulated and faster.
Useful when doing embedded programming, it's great at duplicating the behavior of actual machine instructions. Buttons for things like and, or, xor, not, shift, etc. You set your word size, then poke through calculations and get the same overflow/carry behavior, even with offbeat representations like 7 bit 2's complement.
You can put it into a human-compatible fixed point mode to do normal math. It's fine for some things that way, but no exponents or trig or scientific notation, barely more than 4 function really.
Many of the newer RPN HP calculators include these functions, however all the computer math things are done with multi-button soft key presses or menu selections instead of dedicated buttons.
I also have a TI Programmer. Inferior from a practical point of view, as it has many fewer functions. But it's fun to play with as it has one of those early red LED displays.
I'm actually convinced that all the open source messaging apps are harder to install than postfix or opensmtpd thus a true pain in the butt. I get that most are trying to sell services but having an easy to install and setup program would make a real difference.
Agreed, simple installs for the win. The true test. How quickly can I get something running on a pure VPS. Maybe even without docker. How do I build it, how I do run it. Are there pre-packaged binaries, even better.
Well, there is about three devils worth of pain in our Unix servers sometimes.
I remember being in a building that was 668 and we called it neighbor of the beast (US streets have odd on one side and even house numbers on the other).
According to both those systems, if you look down the street from the end where number 1 is (which is always the open end of a cul-de-sac), then number 1 is the first house on your left. I'd be interested to hear about any exceptional cases in which number one is on your right.
I know. I grew up on a road with no name that numbered the houses with an odd cadence. But, well mannered neighborhoods have stuck with the scheme such that most people recognize the reference.
You don't have to go to that extreme. Although, /usr/local should be its own partition for the wxallowed, and /var/log should be its own to keep some nasty logging from screwing everything up. I have a standard /, /home, /tmp, /usr, /usr/local, /var, /var/log. I also am a heretic so I also do /opt.
It actually isn't that hard. I do wish OpenBSD had a more robust filesystem. I switch to FreeBSD when I need a server with lots of storage.
[edit]
the vultr install of OpenBSD only has / and /usr/local
A funny point is that the line depicted in the second picture down (Micro Center - Burlington) is not exactly unique to an NVIDIA launch. Micro Center often has long lines for a variety of manufactures new parts. That place is basically the biggest outlet in the area for the DIY crowd.

I am less engaged with all the engagement added.
