I'm more outraged by Condi's appointment than Brendan Eich's appointment to Mozilla.

Condi preached death and torture, Eich supported bigotry.

I'm sure however that nobody really give a f and the status quo will be maintained.

IMHO it doesn't make sense to compare Brendan and Condoleezza. Brendan expressed his vote democratically (different opinions are the base of democracy, right?), while Condoleezza had a charge of power in the State, she was an active executor.

.com beats .net

Yes, I think that too, but in this case I will not use this as public domain but as internal support.

lame. License states that one can't host it anywhere. No point to the release. Too little , too late from the dinosaur.

It's not a security hole, misleading title.

Should read "social engineering resulted in security breach" and guess what, this happens all the time whether sendGrid or not.

A perfect time for those affected to test drive BaseCamp's competitor https://www.teamwork.com/

classy.

"In addition, Firefox Sync is also upgraded so that all current users will need to create new account"

Seriously, NO! How to alienate your existing customers.

I'm not sure that part of the article is correct. I've been using my old sync account in Nightly builds (now up to version 31) and it's still working fine.

Edit: I just checked with a clean install, and there's a button that says "Using an older version of sync?" It brings you to this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-update-to-the-ne... which basically says "unlink all your devices and re-link them." So I guess adding new devices to your old account doesn't work.

Looks promising until I say this 404:

http://remoteinterview.io/notBrandedandUgly

Brand your 404, it's part of your site and this generic hosting 404 template with references to WordPress doesn't do you any favors !

We are a small team. We got the landing page ready asap (focusing on the product release more).

But you are very right, I have currently redirected 404 to homepage. Will add a 404 later :)

You are judging a landing page for a product beta by the looks of the 404 page?

I judge a book by it's cover.

"At the request of U.S. officials, The Washington Post is withholding details that could be used to identify the country where the system is being employed or other countries where its use was envisioned"

Therefore there is no point to the article.

> Therefore there is no point to the article.

I disagree. What difference does it make _which_ foreign country the article refers to?

The fact that 100% of calls made by all people in a country are being recorded by another country is enough.

It's enough to make it interesting, but there could be a much more interesting diplomatic scandal depending on which country is targeted. Imagine if it's not Yemen or Iran, but Canada or Switzerland?

Raise your hand if you think its US domestic soil, if not now, how about in the future...

The status quo is then restored.

All this article is is chest-pounding by the US to warn potential competitors in the global sphere of influence.

Or it could serve as a signal that the US is the best country to align with, since they know everything.

This whole NSA debacle could serve as an impressive advertisement for the strength and stability of the industrial spying complex, justifying great investment and pushing important business objectives.

s/could/does

What is wrong with that? The program described in the article is legal.

If it's legal, then we need to change the laws.

Slavery was legal once too.

Pretend that it is Pakistan.

I don't get it? what windfall is he speaking of and he never addressed why he will continue even though it's loss making.

I had the same exact thought. It might be that this graph represents month-by-month net income, rather than something like Net MRR. Perhaps the spike represents a large number of sign-ups for annual plans (it seems like his standard plan is $24/year) in a short period, which means he should see the same spike next year upon renewal (minus his churned customers, of course).

It might be that if he "pro-rated" the monthly payments for his annual accounts as $2/month payments for the future 12 months, he is net positive right now. It's hard for me to tell by eye from the graph, but it's probably close.

Well if those were annual payments it might be profitable spread over the whole year (my visual integration skills can't quite tell) and there should be another massive spike just about to start as all those people renew their subscriptions.

My subscription to Newsblur just auto-renewed. :-)

Cluttered, messy, ugly and how the hell can you read the screens from back there ?

i slide the chair forward until the arms are just under the desk and my feet hit the back wall of the desk.

occasionally i slide the monitors forward or backward if my eyes feel strained
