I love it when Americans take the moral high ground

Funny that's how I feel when Europeans lecture about wars and imperialism

Of all the times to complain about Europeans complaining about wars, maybe now is not the time?

No, now is the time, considering there's been an active war in Europe for many years now that they've been begging the US to get involved with.

Surprised you can even read this thread without a 'acking loicence

Waiting 3 months to disclose this is suboptimal.

Shades of Day Of The Triffids here. (https://youtu.be/G8xD_vcK258?si=r1AQ-f6YOAjJByQL&t=1349)

I for one welcome our new shiitake overlords.

Yes!! This goes for any time you declare a time interval variable. The number of times I've seen code changes with a comment like "Turns out the delay arg to function foo is in milliseconds, not seconds".

Love this, nestled in among the posts about forking httpx and similarity search in DuckDB. It makes me want to watch the BBC adaptation of Richard II again, and listen to The Rest Is History's episodes on the same period.

Do you mean the Hollow Crown series? It's very very good stuff, prestige production of the Henriad. Some excellent performances by a fine cast. Opening of course with Richard II, Ben Whishaw playing the king.

I watched the first one. That article on the last testaments made me want to watch it again. Ben Whishaw was the perfect choice, wasn't he?

I was never cool enough to run BeOS but I coveted it. It looked so cool and futuristic compared with Windows.

I'm not cool enough to run VitruvianOS either, but i'm glad it exists.

I'm such a sucker for a good, data-driven article. Love this.

I've used an ad blocker for so long, I'd forgotten the web has got so terrible.

Any time I have to use the Internet without an ad blocker it's truly shocking how absolutely lousy everything is with ads

Nice! Lots of fun, I'll be coming back. Is it a new game each day?

Great to hear. There is a Daily Slicer every day, and then there are "free to play" games that you can play as many as you want :-) Three levels of difficulty for the "free plays": 3, 4 and 5 letters.

For those caught out by this, I put together a Github repo that shows how you can work around it in your Github Actions. Hope it helps! https://github.com/simonwhitaker/setuptools-demo
