Are you sure it was just because of that one photo and not the story line or anything else?

I'd like to know! I only received the boilerplate.

The previous time the app got rejected was because the content contained swear words. The description of the grounds for rejection in the email was clear. This time, there was no description.

Though I doubt it would be the story, comments from the reviewer would have been nicer.

Interesting analogy. I would say the danger isn't quite in students injuring themselves in the classroom as much as it is giving destructive chemicals to students. Sure some of them can handle it, but the deviant ones will create havoc given the opportunity. In football there is a certain physical discipline allowed, where as in science its just the principals office, which can be better than class. Good analogy, but I think far from raising the argument...

Let's all worry about the "deviants". Conformity for the win!

Why do you use Quicksilver over Spotlight?

Quicksilver responds much faster than Spotlight does, even when Spotlight has "indexed" the disk. I only use Quicksilver for launching applications (i.e. I don't do anything even slightly advanced with it) but it's still satisfying because Quicksilver will find the app as I type it, whereas Spotlight will think for a few seconds.

Quicksilver allows you want to do something other than find and open a file. Though if that is all you want to do quicksilver opens as a default action.

Coming from a linux background I like to automate/do things faster whenever I can so quicksilver is just one way to do that.

Although this is the more hands off approach, if you have a mac, get familiar with RapidWeaver. I actually started learning web design with RapidWeaver and it was great. Since then I moved onto writing my own code and I discovered that using custom code inline with RapidWeaver is a great approach. Rather than rip off other ideas, gain powerful functionality and create your beautiful design.

I like the concept just because it is built around twitter. I don't tweet myself, but I feel like it adds something to the twitter experience. There was an article talking about how twitter only has a 25% retention rate in their second month and sites like this might help that number get better.

Get the new macbook. 2.4ghz. Put Windows on it. Its a great machine.

I can honestly say I don't understand that. Why pay the mac tax, then do away with 50% of the reason for that tax? I love my MacBook and OS X, which made it worth paying more. I can't imagine paying more for a windows machine.

20g's

NHL, for sure

High school is rough, especially for those intelligent enough to be reading hackernews. Its pretty far from a reality of the world and I would say appreciate the lack of responsibility expected of you and learn a programming language as well as a musical instrument. And even start learning a foreign language as well as SAT vocab cards during class. Also, I recommend skipping a lot. It got me through :)

That's some pretty good photoshoppin'. I wouldn't mind seeing some basic tutorials to go with the shots..

Why is this voted down? The link is a bunch of pretty pictures. Tutorials would have made it useful and informative.
