I wouldn't be too quick to cast a positive on Arab Spring. Most of those countries have yet to recover and it is arguable that it was a precursor to the current migrant crisis.

It is true that U.S. culture is far more aligned with Shia Islam, but it is merely a game of numbers and control. ~80% of muslims are Sunni or some offshoot whereas the remaining percentage consists of Shia and other very small sects. As a result, Sunni is the dominant force in the ME except in Iran and half of Iraq where the Shia population is concentrated. If the goal of the US policy is to exert as much control over the ME, then aligning with Sunni is the clear play.
That letter spends a large portion on detailing how the gloves are not capable of two way communication but it seems like the path from speaker -> deaf could be tackled using supplementary technology. One such method (ignoring problems with real-time language processing) would be a speech to text displayed on a HUD (think google glass).
Perhaps their criticism against the marketing of the project still stands as it is definitely not a panacea for the problem of communication between ASL and English.
They also bring up the problem of hand motions not being enough to fully express the ASL statement in English, however one could imagine a dialect of ASL that could utilize alternate syntax that would allow for better compatibility with English. As with the other criticism, it seems the gloves are merely the first piece of the puzzle but certainly not the full solution.

I have seen no evidence that drug tests for most jobs are an effective predictor of job performance and do anything beyond giving a cover for racial and class prejudice.

Therefore it is possible that there are multiple mentions per counted thread meaning that at least .00078 comments mention nazis, but in all likelihood far more comments mention nazis.
Edit: after reading the article, I don't think that this observation stands.
His points are all pretty dismiss-able even if the whole 22 minutes are viewed. The only people that his show will convince are people who have already taken a anti-trump stance prior to watching the show.
I found myself quietly laughing at some portions of the show, but overall it didn't seem like "oliver skewers trump" was fitting.
I am genuinely curious to hear how the points are dismiss-able? I'm not saying there is any one "gotcha" point but taken in aggregate, it paints a picture.
