With the NBA playoffs going right now (and as an avid Pacers fan), I was curious about if refs were fair or not. Based on so many folks writing online about how important it is to write online, I figured I'd send it out.

I also would love any tips y'all have on writing, publishing, blogging, or any of that!

An overview of synthetic biology and the risks associated with it -- a new side of tech that we don't talk about a lot

I run a newsletter (https://thisiscool.beehiiv.com/) about cool longform articles I find online, and it genuinely is nice to have a direct line to many of the people that follow and like my content (@zevulous on tiktok), especially if social media sites go down or delete my account for some reason.

For me, using chessable for chess was immensely helpful. Something about the patterns and repetition scratches a lovely itch

I've been using the second brain system in Roam for a while now and I really like it -- it helps me connect between topics, especially as someone with many competing interests. I will say that it only works when I remember to do it, which is a downside of any of these systems. Organization is also super important here.

while I don't have a blog, I have a tiktok (@zevulous) that has garnered over 240k followers and has led to a few interesting opportunities such as speaking at a few online events and the occasional sponsorship. It's also given me a fair amount of social interaction. It functions somewhat as a blog for me, although I also do a newsletter (https://thisiscool.beehiiv.com/) that is more for me as a personal project, even though it doesn't give me much in terms of opportunities.
