Show HN: I grouped HN by topics, so you don‘t have to (ploomber.io)

I feel like it uses too much vertical space. It seems oddly verbose and spaced out. Yet the sense of verbosity is a little weird because it is sourcing from HN. It might be that I'm too used to the compactness of HN... but perhaps its too much surrounding whitespace? Probably. UX is definitely an art and science.

Otherwise I like the idea and the overall execution.

Author here, the blog post how we did it: https://ploomber.io/blog/hn_classifier/

The project is using machine learning to classify each headline by topic. Sometimes I just want to read stock market related news so I came up with this idea. Open for feedback :)

You should improve your model before releasing it.

I see constant false positives.

Creating an ml model is the easy part, having a reasonable amount of certainty is the hard part.

hnrss.org does a good job of this. Of course the topics are RSS feeds. There's one that will let you search for anything, and I have quite a few of those.

Hello OP, your site is in a redirect loop appending ~and in url after every refresh

Ah I see. This base url works. Will repost it until fixed: http://n3ws.ploomber.io/
