>Merck Molnupiravir, a covid-19 antiviral drug bought by the UK government in the amount of 2.23 million doses, is no better than placebo at lowering the risks of death and hospital admission, a pivotal UK trial has found.

>The Panoramic study, sponsored by the University of Oxford, found that 0.8% of patients in the molnupiravir group (103 of 12 516) and 0.8% in the usual care group (96 of 12 484) were admitted to hospital or died in the first 28 days (adjusted odds ratio 1.061 (95% bayesian credible interval 0.80 to 1.40)).

TLDR you have better survival odds with placebo than with this Merck drug

The drug seems to have no impact, but I wouldn't go as far as claiming the odds are better with placebo. 96 vs 103 can just be random chance.

Tylenol has been proscribed for covid19 relief.
