I've heard about these small european countries dealing with 10%+ of their population changes happening within a period of a few years, that must have a mind numbing and really crazy affect on the people that lived there their entire lives.

It has a horrendous impact on housing markets, transportation infrastructure, healthcare systems etc which suddenly can’t keep up.
