Have you tried making the change in Google Maps? I've made 10+ changes in the last 2 years, and have found their QA team to be very responsive.

Yes, I just did earlier this morning -- for some reason it never occurred to me to try until I saw this article.

I tried making 2 contributions to Google Maps and both were rejected by overzealous moderators. So I gave up on trying to submit changes to Google Maps, plus, as the article correctly states - GMaps data does not belong to us, so why contribute?
